The Best of Both Worlds

From a young age, I was surrounded by beautiful music, and it is a source of comfort for me. My mother was a piano teacher and choir director, and my brother played the violin. I tried both of those instruments, and loved and stayed with harp.

After over ten years of private lessons with two long-term instructors, life got busy with a corporate job in hospitality/service industry, marriage and children.  Life came around full circle and I find myself missing customer interaction and music performance tremendously and decided to blend the best of what I have been trained to do and enjoy most-serving people with my favorite musical instrument-beautiful, elegant, dreamy harp.

From Classical to Modern

My formative years of music training focused heavily on classical harp music and repertoire.  I have since then added many contemporary selections.  Now I can bring to your event classics like "The Lord's Prayer" by Albert Malotte, Jules Massenet's "Meditation", and Pachelbel's "Canon in D", to modern pop songs like Titanic's "My Heart Will Go On", Ed Sheeran's "Perfect", or Christina Perri's "A Thousand Years".

A little bit about me & where I learned harp

My father served and retired as a diplomat for Taiwan, which meant growing up we lived everywhere but!  I found myself loving travel from a young age and grew up very social and adaptable.

At age 12, I started harp lessons with Judi Snook Utley, one of two harpists in Thailand in the 80's. I was blessed with lots of opportunities to play in church as well as with a professional orchestra while in high school. I am forever thankful to my parents for their support of my music endeavors, and my long time teacher Mrs. Utley for being there for me through many milestones in life!

...and where I call home!

After coming to the United States for college, I played in college orchestra at Baylor University, and studied two years with then university harp professor, Delaine Fedson Leonard.  I am currently studying with Rebecca Scherschell in Tarrant County, and am a member of the American Harp Society Dallas Chapter.

I have now lived in north Fort Worth for about 20 years, and have two daughters that I adore that give me new perspectives to life and learning. I am pursuing my love and passion for parenting, teaching, and sharing music. and call Texas my home.
